I have a Whirlpool bought around the turn of the century (2k) and it was lacking heating for each load. I bought a new cycling thermo, hi-limit thermo and cutoff kit. After all items were installed and ductwork was cleaned out, I tested the dryer to ensure proper operation. Everything worked but in all my wisdom I decided to remove some lint near a screw by the Operating T-stat. I used a screwdriver and the dryer did not like that :wall: Sparks flew.
I ensured the door was closed and dryer was plugged into wall but the dryer will not even start anymore.
I checked continuity for the thermal fuse and for the Op T-stat and both were fine.
Checked the circuit breaker and it was fine (turned on and off)
Tried to check for 240 volts coming from the outlet but I was unable to get a reading (I stuck the tips as far as I could in there but nothing)
I think this may be the problem but am unsure how to fix it. I was so close to completing repairs earlier and now I have more problems due to my stupidity. Its my parents new house and I leave in four days. I really would like to finish this for them before I leave. Please help
