I have reprogrammed my alarm system (I think) and I would like to test it.

Is there anyway to get the panel to believe I have a siren attached even though I don't as I don't want to stir the whole neighbourhood up with the siren going off.

Also I never did figure out what to do with sections 202-205, they are something to do with activating the zones, but I thought that's what the zone definitions did.

Any clues?

Thanks

Unless you have more than 8 zones, you shouldn't have to mess with section 202-205, that's for expanding the system. The first 8 zones default to on.

For the siren, you can place either a 1k resistor, or a 12v lamp (<20w) across the terminals for testing purposes (I have a 12v strobe that I use for testing).

I dug out a 1k Ohm resistor, it is now in a no fault state (hoorah!)

I have 9 zones at the moment so I have to figure 202-205 out to turn on the motions, are these sections options? I have only found them referred to never defined what/how to program them.

I also want to add to it at a later date, is there any way to determine if my wireless rcvr is 900MHz or 433MHz? I'd also really like to add some home grown stuff to the keybus.

it sould be written on it if its 433 or 900.
for zone 9 turn on 1 in 203.and in 002 define it to whatever you like so 001 is to assign zones 1-8 attributes, 002 9-16, 003 27,24... and so on.

Yep, I have done that and it seems to be working, I am going to meter the resistor so I can see if it is actually going off when I'd expect it to.

I am really liking the stay/away feature where I arm it with *0 and it determines that I am staying home because the door hasn't been opened and disables the motions inside.

Thanks for all the help guys...
