i'm preparing to rock the inside of my cottage.
some areas have studs that are either bowed and/or twisted.
not severe, but i'm wondering how to accomodate this?

the newer walls are 100% flush, no problem, but am just curious how to address the existing walls....

also, what is the recommended screw spacing?

If the studs are bowed from side to side [in the wall cavity] you can probably not worry about it providing the structural support is there. If they bow in and out [into or out of the room] if you don't fix or replace them it may be quite noticable. You want to make sure the rock hangs flat and even on the studs. Screw or nail the rock at 1 each top and bottom and 2 about 2" apart every 16"

you could used a saw and make a 1/4 in wedge type cut in the stud.
don't cut completly and the push them back till strait and then used some 1x4 on each side to secure it

one of the guys here was saying that i can *shave* the stud with a rasp so that it is flush with the correct wall surface? ever hear of this??

i suppose i'll pull a line, starting from the floor up to the ceiling, along the studs, and see where my worst deviation is....
