Hi, I just purchased a Honeywell HE 225-A, whole house humidifier. My gas forced air furnace is that of highboy style, my question is this, I do not have any room to place this unit on the furnace jacket, but have room on the return side. Is this acceptable, and is there any draw backs by placing the unit on return side as opposed to the furnace itself?

Yes, you can place this on the return side. and put the by-pass duct onto the supply where you have room.

I think if you check most bypass humidifier's go on the return side of the furnace. With the bypass pipe on the supply side of it. Tie it in to the hot water if you can. Will work better and not lime up as bad.
