Hi
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question...
I want to epoxy my garage floor. Its 35years old but in pretty good shape, but I want it to last as long as possible, so I'm going with the epoxy.
I've seen a couple of products, Rustolium makes a kit that runs for under
50$ and There is something called U-Coat-It that runs for about 250.00.
Does anyone have any knowledge using either product?
thanks
John

No experience with either of them. Are they alkyd or latex? Two-part?
Is there paint on the floor now, or is it bare concrete?

there are both a two part mix, so its a very hard coating (epoxy). The important part is prep'ing the floor, de greasing etc...
The floor is bare concrete

Yep, degreasing is a must. Might want to etch it also. I feel the two-part epoxies are the best type, definitely dry harder than pre-mix.

I would go to your local SW store and seek some advice
If it were me I would grab a gallon of muratic acid and scrub that floor down, then power wash it
I would also look into H&C Cement stain as an alternitive to epoxy
its way easier to apply and can be touched up later, wheres as epoxy can not
However if Epoxy is what you want I would stay away from those mass produced kits and grab me a industrial 2 part epoxy from SW

Yes, do pressure wash and then etch with muratic acid. Then rinse real well again.
