Can someone tell me if it is possible to install a ceiling fan in place of my existing recess lighting fixtures? I know my existing recess fixture will not hold the weight of a ceiling fan, so is this possible with some sort of kit that can be put in place of the existing recess fixture without cutting out some of the ceiling? Any detailed help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Slide the can out of the ceiling by removing all the screws you see inside the can. Then you can reach up through the hole and remove the can bracket. Then you can put up a new fan brace kit through the hole. You can then use a medallion to cover the can hole, which will be a bit larger than the fan brace box you put in there.
