Just wondering if anyone knows how to decipher the codes on the back of a piece of sheetrock. The sheetrock is USG corp. brand and has two different codes on the back side.
121864 ..................... 0411 2
I was wondering if the 2nd code means 2004november2.
The reasond I ask is that I have discovered a leak in my house I just purchased and I am trying to prove the seller did not disclose this leak on the sellers diclosure statement. If the date is in fact like I think, then I have found my smoking gun. I hope someone can help me.
Thanks

How old is the house? Could the 121864 be the date? Dec 18,1964?
Are there other signs that there is a repair?

For the code definition, call USG.

The house was built in 1986......I have called USG to research the problem, they are supposed to call me back with the information. If the date is indeed in 2004 I have found my smoking gun..

maybe if you go to USG's web site they might have info on it. I e-mailed them with a question about a product and I got a very fast response.
