I'm looking for available photo cell controlled porch lights or light socket insert to convert an existing porch light into a photo cell controlled light.

FYI: I tried using an Intermatic Wall Timer Switch, but the light was wired off a circuit feeding to other parts of the house. Two timer switches, two switch failures I'm guessing due to power spikes/drops. I'm guessing a photo cell controlled light would give me the dusk to dawn light on that light that I thought I could do with the wall timer switch. (I have another wall timer switch on another light and, knock on wood, it has worked quite nicely.)

Look at this one.
I don't know what "1/2`` Npt Carded" means in the ad.
But the Flicker Eliminator is what you want.
The glass globe may not fit over the extended length.

If you go with this style of cell, as GWIZ suggested, be sure to only run incandescent lamps, not compact fluorescent.
