One of my spring projects is to re-paint my metal garage door. I just got a sprayer for my compressor and want to use it for this project. My question is what type of paint should i use on this door? Primer?
Thanks

What is on the door now? Paint, primer, bare metal?

5 year old house, the door was white but painted to match the siding of the house. There are some spots where there is bare metal showing cause some of the paint along the bottom of the door has bubbled and peeled away.

Most likely the the door has latex on it. Most door manufactures specify latex. It flexes while oil does not. Unfortunetly it is doubtful that you can spray latex with your cup gun.
I would suggest sanding and priming the bad spots then coating with a quality latex. If you don't want to brush it, you can take a 3/4" nap roller cover and roll it. You can either roll it on and brush it out or just dress it off with the roller.
