Water stands in the tub. I tried advancing around again to the agitate cycle which works but when the cycle again advanced to drain..nothing.

Then I bumped the washer and it clicked over to drain.

Now (2 weeks later) when the washer won't drain, I repeatedly bump, rock and jostle the washer (it gives a small "click-click" each bump) until I can get it to drain. Sometimes it will still drain on its own but it is obviously just going to get worse.

I need to repair ASAP. What is most likely problem and cost to fix? Can I attempt repair or is it best left for professional?

Thanks,

Shelley

Try pushing down on lid if this works the lid swich is bad... not to hard to replace may even just be loose :coffee:

Would this be the same lid switch that should stop the spin cycle when the lid is raised? Because for the last two years my washer will spin even with the lid open.

My drain problem is only a few weeks old, is the lid switch still a factor in this situation?

Thanks,

Shelley

Shelly,,

Yup.. It Could Have Come Free And Now Sticking Open.... If You Un-plug It.. Remove 2 Srews In Console At Corners Pull Console From Bottom Foward And Lift Will Expose The Connecion For Lid Switch
In The Center On The Cabinet.. Un-plug Switch Connector And If You Have A Meter Check Outside 2 Terminals For Continuity With Lid Up And Down...
