Hi Everybody,

I recently attempted to repair a tv that my grandpa said didn't work, and I can't seem to find the soulution. The TV audio is good, but gets staticy when the tv scrambles. The picture is scrambled, but the menu, volume and channel screens come up unscrambled. I think it has something to do with the input. I tried switching the settings for the cable and antenna input, but they didn't have any effect. The TV is a JVC from oct. 1982. I think its a 13". The tv doesn't have any AV inputs, so I cant test those. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Danny

You could try connecting a VCR to it to see if you get a good picture then. I doubt you will, but it's worth a try.

Unless your motives are purely academic, I'm with kuhurdler...a 23 year old 13" TV isn't worth the trouble. New 13" TV's with modern inputs are under $75.

I'm wondering though if you meant 1992 instead of 1982? I would be surprised if a 1982 TV even had settings for cable/antenna, or menu, volume, and channel screens.
