I need to put a bigger slab of concrete outside my back door. Can I lleave the concrete from the old slab in place? (the old slab is broken into pieces). The area of the new slab will extend beyond the area of the old slab, and will be higher than the old slab was.

I would remove it, over pouring a solid slab is one thing, a broken slab is all together different.
