I'm currently trying to install a new over-the-range microwave in our recently refurbished kitchen. We're trying to take advantage of some pre-existing ceiling ductwork that the old range hood in the kitchen used to vent to the outside. The issue: the existing 4x10 duct opening in the ceiling is offset from the wall about 6" while the 4x10 vent location on the top of the microwave is only 1/2" from the wall.
We can't do anything to move the existing ceiling duct vent or the location of the microwave. So, I'm going to have to jog some 4x10 ductwork inside the cabinet above the microwave. My question: is there a flexible version of 4x10 ducting? I haven't seen anything at Lowe's or HD - just the regular tin stuff. Right now I'm planning on going to work on some regular tin with a pair of tin snips and some pliers to see if I can make my own angled length of duct. I'm hoping there's an easier solution to this problem.
Any ideas?
