Low Slope Rolled Roof

I'm getting ready to lay rolled asphalt roofing on a low slope (1/12) patio cover. 1/2 " plywood sheathing. 15# felt. Desert climate. High heat. No snow. Seasonal wind and rain/monsoon.

I've got a pretty good handle on the requirements, but have one question.

The patio cover is 14' X 40'. Should I lay the roofing down in one continuous 40' span, or should it be broken up into overlapped smaller runs? 10'? 15'? 20'?

The 90lb. is not 40ft. long so you'll definately have side laps.
I've heard "theories" from guys on why one should only install 15ft., 20ft., etc. long sections but I don't buy it on smaller roofs.

Main thing you want to do is roll it out, lining and relining it up as you go. You don't want to roll it all out, then try to move it, as it stretches easy and you could end up with buckling here or there. After rolling out a roll, let it relax for 10-15 minutes. And you might want to cut off the last foot or so as many times it will be kinked, distorted, etc.
