I live in upstate new york, and it is going to be cool and wet for a couple more months. I am anxious to start prepring the outside of our house for summer painting. Can I start scraping now or sould I wait until the weather gets nicer? I worry about exposing the wood to the elements now. I should mention that the wood is already 25% exposed because the existing paint is so bad. Thanks!

I don't see any reason not to get a head start. Do keep in mind that the new edges you create from scraping may turn loose a little and need a little more scraping before painting. I wouldn't overly worry about the wood having a little more exposure for a few months, but if you get a nice day and the wood is dry why not do a little priming?

The current paint is so bad, that I suspect I'll gt it all off so there will be no edges! Thanks for your reply!
