Hey everyone, I'm new here and I was just wondering if I could get some input on something I wanted to do this week during spring break. Yeah...I'm in high school LOL and my parents are finally letting me spruce up my room. Well, sort of.

Anyway, to get more to the point...I wanted to do this kind of trim around the top perimeter of my room. A sort of magnetic chalkboard where I can put pictures all around with magnets and friends can write messages with chalk. All that good stuff. I guess, with my poor skills on Paint, it'd look a bit like this. (http://img30.exs.cx/img30/5849/room4jz.jpg)

I've heard of lots of ways to do this. Using plywood and painting it with chalkboard paint and putting metal sheet behind it, painting chalkboard paint directly on the metal sheet, etc etc. And I just was wondering if any of you knew the best way to go about doing this project?

If you can help, that'd be awesome. :D Thanks!

Check at local office supply stores. You can find Magnetic or Adhesive Memo Strips. Mount with the adhesive backing or on metal surface with magnetic backing. There is a cork insert into which you can use push pins for posting memos and papers.
