I have concrete steps into my basement from the outside that lead into sliding doors. The side walls are stepped, with the lower walls from the sliding doors up the same height as the foundation. This steps down to the ground level for the last three steps. At this step down point the concrete has cracked on either side, as if the last three steps up are settling. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep these from settling much more? I have patched the cracks because of drainage problems using hydraulic cement. It worked fine for awhile but has now cracked again. It is obviously still settling and the hydraulic cement is cracking off because of moisture getting into the old crack. Anyway to support the steps from underneath?
Thanks,
Fred
