We are remodeling an older house that was not built to have a washer/dryer. The previous owers added them to the Kitchen which takes up valuable cabnet space and looks really bad. The onlt other place we can see to put them is the hall closet, however, this area is not against an outside wall. Can we vent the dryer though the roof? What about those ventless dryers they use in Europe?

Mom_4_bigdog, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Yes, you can vent out the roof. They even make vents for just this purpose. Whichever way you go, have a cleaning schedule to avoid clogs and save money on energy (due to clogged ducts). I am assuming you are on a slab and cannot run the duct down and out a wall. That would be my PERSONAL preferance. Good luck with your project.

How far/what distance can you run a dryer duct?
thanks
