I'm evaluating the estimates for painting my co-op in New York City. Do I need 2 coats if I'm keeping the same colors? Is it usual in New York City for painters to do minor repairs such as securing a towel rack, caulking the tile surround in the bathroom, and smoothing the baseboards? Is Benjamin Moore still the best paint? Would be grateful for help and advice!

99% of our proposals include two coats, we just like to do it for the superior durability and longevity of the paint job.

I have no idea what any painter's anywhere else include in their pricing. Everything they are to do should be lined out in a clear, line-by-line scope of work. This way there are no misunderstandings.

I think so.
