In Washington, DC, I have a 2 story brick colonial circa 1940 with hot water heat (gas boiler and radiators). First and second floor are about 3,000sq/ft, basement is 1,500sq/ft and finished attic is about 1,200sq/ft.
Recent revovations and additions brought with it central air conditioning - two systems: one in the basement for the basement and first floor, and one in the attic for the 2nd floor and attic.
We are experiencing all symptoms of a too-dry house, new hardwood floors cupping and gapping, crown molding gapping, antique furniture joints coming loose, and both of us have had nosebleeds. It must stop.
Could we put enough moisture in the air using radiator hang-on pans/pots? If so, where can I get them?
If not, can I put W/H humidifiers on the A/C systems and use the blowers to distribute the moisture? Would I need two, one for each A/C system? If so, can you recommend brand or model? I would prefer not to use portable humidifiers.
Thanks for any help.

Id put one in each AC unit duct work. Be sure and turn them off and the water off when you go to AC.
Honeywell and Aprilair are good also look at this www for one it puts out the water for surewith no bypass
