I would like to paint my doorway and the door over the weekend. Both of them are in blue color and I would like to paint a beige semi gloss color. I have a few questions:
a. Should I use a primer? If so what type?
b. Do I need to remove paint from the door?
c. What sequence do I use? Paint door first and then the walls or vice-versa?
Thanks!

Painting over alike paints is no problem..Oil/Latex. If the paint is sound, just sand and clean with good prep cleaner from the paint store. Then paint away.I paint trim first except baseboards. Then I do the walls. It easier to get a strait line down the walls to meet the trim paint than vice versa. Its usually personal preference.I used to be a contractor so have fun and open some windows if possible.

Do I need to use a heat gun to remove paint off the door first?
ALso, do I need to go for different kinds of paint for door and walls?
