Maytag 7 year old Quiet Pack Dishwasher, used daily, turns on, heats up, but no water. We're novices, but would be willing to try fixing this if it were simple. I'm mostly wondering if I should bring someone in on this or just go out and purchase another. I'd hate to spend $75 only to find out I need to buy another dw. Thanks.

Start with the easy thing. Is the DW supplied through tubing that is connected to one of those "quick-tap" valves? If so, it is probably clogged. Try screwing the handle back in (clockwise) and then open again. Next step is pulling the DW out to check other things. Good luck.
