When I take a shower the water is nice and hot, when some one in my family uses the faucet or the toilet and flushes my shower water turns cold.
Is there some thing i can do about, the water heater is quite old but still in good condition.

bomert, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Only way to cure this is to install an Anti-scald valve in the shower. These have an adjustment to control the temperature of the water so children do not get scalded and also a tempering device that will add more hot water when another fixture is used to avoid what is haoppening to you. Good luck.
