Humming Ceiling Fan

I have a new home with a ceiling fan installed in the bedroom that has a hum that is definitely unacceptable. The fan came with a remote control module that was not installed and instead the fan is switched to a regular light switch. Is there a chance that if I install the remote module, I can get rid of the hum or is a replacement necessary? I have the module that came with the fan.

Allot of (cheaper) ceiling fans are just noisy, especially when they are set to “low”.

Installing that module won’t do anything for the hum. I'm afraid you'll have to replace the fan if you want something quieter.
