Painting - Caulk for window sills

I have installed a number of window sills with plastic laminate surfaces and cherry trim on the exposed edges. The laminate is a dark 'graphite' color. The sills were installed after the sheetrock went up and there are a number of narrow gaps between the edge of the sill and the window that I would like to fill. Of course, I can't find any caulk to match the graphite colored laminate.

I was thinking about filling the gaps with painters caulk and then painting the caulk to match the laminate.

Any better ideas out there?

Ocasionally you can find a paint store that will custom tint caulking for you. How about clear caulking? Latex clear goes on milky white but dries cleaqr and is easy to work with. I wouldn't want to use white caulk and paint, alot of work plus if the caulk gives any you may need to touch up over a period of time. You might try using a thin piece of wood [stained or painted to match] and install on each sill, it may look like it is suppose to be there.
