Dear All,

Could someone tell me or point me to a place where I could find (or ask about) the correct ring cap (for both piston rings) for a Briggs and Stratton Model 133702 Type 0153 6HP engine? Additional specs would also be welcome (e.g., spark plug gap, crankshaft axial play, etc.).

Also, if someone knows how to exactly match up the camshaft and the crankshaft (how to set the timing with the marks on the shafts).
Your help would be greatly apreciated.

Best wishes,

GregZ

:thinker: First of all,IF"you can get a .007 (.18mm) between the piston ring and the piston "lands" replace the pistion too.Now the ring gap is 0.35 (.89mm) on top ring (compresson ring and middle ring scrapper ring) an 0.45 or 1.14mm on the oil ring.

IMPORTANT

DO NOT LINE THESE GAPS UP WHEN PUTTING PISTON INTO CYLINDER AND MAKE SURE THEIR IS NO RING GROVE AT TOP OF THE CYLINDER.

You should torque the rod cap at 100 inch pounds which is 8.30 foot pounds.
Line up the marks (dimples) on crank & camshafts to time engine.Cant find end play spec. in my book.Mayby someone else can help on this. Torque the head bolts in an x and then + pattern. that is 1 5 4

7 8

3 6 2

Bolts 8,2,6 if memory servers are a little shorter than the rest, this is important in order for valves to work. And torque at 140 inch pounds or 11.60 foot pounds.

Torque oil pan bolts at 75 inch pounds or 6.25 foot pounds, also useing the x an + methiod.Spark plug sets at 0.30 and torques at no greater than 600 incs pounds or 50 foot pounds.

GOOD LUCK ON REPAIRS

Crankshaft endplay is .002-.030" unless the engine powers a pump then the play will be .002-.008".
