I am having having my house remodeled. The new roof is leaking where they cut holes for the plumbing vents and old chimney. Water is laying on the subfloor which would make me think that the insulation in the attic must be soaked. Does this insulation need to be replaced or can they simply fix the holes and the insulation will dry on its own. Will this cause mold?

Thanks for your help.

Id get that wet insulation out of there now . Any and all that is wet. You can put back new later.

I'm not exactly sure what insulation got wet. I will go in the attic and inspect it, but how important is it that I get every piece of wet insulation removed. Will that cause mold or will it dry?

Could give you mold. For the cost Id get it out of there so the wood can dry.
