Hello!
This morning when i went to turn on my shower by pulling the little lever which makes the water come out of the shower head instead of the tub, the whole thing just came right out! I tried to place it back in and screw it, since its threaded, but couldn't get it.
do i need to keep trying, or is this going to require me to take the faucet head out and replace it?
thanks,
laurie

Lmarks, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Look at the end of the threads and see if perhaps they broke off rather than just unscrewing. You may have to remove the spout to re-insert the pull handle anyways. This is a simple task though. Look underneath first to see if there is a slot in the bottom of the spout near where it meets the tub. If so, there is an allenhead screw that must be removed in order to pull the spout off. If no slot, just grip it with a wrench (cover the chrome with a rag to prevent damage) and turn counterclockwise as you are looking at it. It will unscrew for removal. If you cannot get the lever to screw back in, get a new spout and wrap the threads on the pipe in the tub with 4 wraps of teflon tape dope and screw the new spout on. Seal with silicone or caulk to keep water from going into the wall behind the spout. Good luck.
