I bought my pressure tester at lowes. I think it was about $10. Just screw it on a spigot and read.

80 pounds would be the top end for a house pressure. Anything above that is considered high. This would not be good for most fixtures. 60 pounds is a normal and good water pressure. Good luck.

First find out if you have a back flow or check valve in the water line comeing into the home If so then you do need the expansion tank on the water line for sure. If you dont then call the city water and ask them about cutting down the water pressure. You could turn the cold water off to the hot water tank then check the pressure on the water line again after you open and close another cold water valve. See what you get that way. Then trun the water back on to the H/W tank and see what you have then.

It is likely that you have a pressure regulating valve on the house, and it is shot, so you are getting 110 directly from the street into the house. In most areas, it is your responsibility, not the water company, to control this pressure.
