For quite some time Sony KV-27S10 takes from 2 to 7 minutes for picture and sound to come in. Just static snow up to that point. Also intermitent static blips on occssion. If I feed signal from VCR, bypassing TV tuner then there is no problem. I suspect TV tuner and I have located the internal part. I am relunctant to pull it from the 'A' board as it seems firmly positioned and maybe slightly soldered, hard to tell. Am I on the right track with the tuner replacement? Can I pull tuner out without damage? I am assuming I can get the part. Is this expensive part?

You probably just have some bad solder joints inside the tuner. Just pull the tuner and resolder the points that tie the PC board to the tuner case.
