Need to put new plantation style (2 inch) blinds in all our windows. The stores offer wood, vinyl and faux blinds. And to further complicate matters, some are solid and some are hollow! Which is most durable?

i think it depends on the environment you'll be using them in. the vinyl ones are great for steamy bathrooms & garages (where wood might warp), and the wood ones are, of course, best if you'll want them stained. for normal interior use, i think they're all about even. i'd go with whichever fits your needs & budget best, and has a good warranty.

one more thought: the only time i think you'd need to worry about durability is if your blinds will be extremely wide (over 48"), and then you might be concerned with bowing because of the long slat length. and in that instance, if you wanted to, you could divide it up & do 2 blinds on one headrail, instead of the one wide blind.
