I have a dehumidifier that I run in my basement during the warm months to remove excess moisture in the air down there. If I dont run it I begin to see some mold on some of the items I store down there.

Last year I bought a unit that has a tank that can be emptied when it fills up or there is the option to run a hose to it and then the dehumidifier can be drained. Last year I would just empty the tank whenever it filled up, but the problem was I'd finding myself doing this almost daily and gets to be a hassle.

I have my laundry in the basement and was thinking about elevating the humidifier up to a level where I can put a hose to drain into the laundry sink that is down there.

Are there any unforeseen problems with elevating the dehumidifier? Wasnt sure if it would work better closer to the ground or if it was a non-issue.

Thanks!

Try it why not. I think it will do better on the floor as it will like blow the air over the damp cement floor is all.
