I have a Whirlpool SEDX600HQ0 model. It has been taking 2 cycles to dry a regular load of clothes. Just recently 2 cycles has not been getting them dry and we have to run 3 times. :coffee:
I do have a home warranty plan that will cost me $40. to have a service repair person come to fix it. I am wondering if the dryer problem is extensive enough to call the warranty repair person, or can I fix it easily on my own.
IF it will just take me cleaning out the dryer of lint, how extensive is that? Can someone explain it to me? Thanks

There should be a lint filter on the top of the dryer. It's usually a door that you lift up and pull the lint screen out and clean it off.
If its the exhaust duct then you have to pull out the dryer and disconnect the vent pipe off and clean out the full length of the duct. Also check where the duct exits the house. Sometimes the doors that open when the dryer is on, fail to open. Try looking at the exit first with the dryer on. You should be able to feel full flow of damp air coming out it. Good luck.

I would for sure check out the screen, pipes and outside vent to make sure air is getting out. Turn it on with no load do you get good air out the vent pipe outside is it hot???

AFter I posted I did clean the outside vent which was clogged, the hose and the pipe that the lint filter goes into, which also had a lot of lint in it. :thinker:
I am now attempting to dry a laundry load that was only partially dry before I attempted to clean the dryer :wall: .
Thanks for the input! :)
