We have about four edge-face tiles around the sink area of our kitchen counter top that are either cracked or damaged. Given that there is not going to be an exact match available for this late 70's speckled cream tile, would it be feasable to attempt to carefully remove like tile from a smaller bath sink area, re-tile that, and successfully remove and replace the cracked/damaged tile in the kitchen? I have heard that Dremmel makes a grout removing tool attachment. Would it (and I) be capable of sucessfully removing and saving existing tile for that purpose or should I just plan on retiling the whole kitchen enchilada? Kitchen is about 30 sq ft and bath is 8 sq ft. I would appreciate any input.

What about finding a complimantary tile and redoing all the tile on the edging of the counter tops? Removing the grout would only be the first step in removing a tile. THe next step usually involves breaking them, intentionally or not. The grout removal is to reduce the chance of breaking the surrounding tile. A dremel to remove the grout can scratch or chip the surrounding tile, even more so with small grout lines. A small hand held grout saw will offer you more control over the cutting of the grout resulting in less likely hood that a tile you want to save doen't get damaged.
