My wife and I recently purchased a new home which has a MacClean NSM 1001 (7 gpm) water softener. Unfortunately, we do not have a manual or any information on this model and the salt tank is empty.

Can anyone tell me type of salt we should add and how much of it?\

Any help would be most appreciated.
