We recently bought a house that is ~6 years old and it has a gas stove/oven which I'm guessing is also ~6 years old.
Some nights, around 9pm (~3 hours after using the oven or stove), it will CLICK -- the sound it makes when you start a grill on the stove, but only once, not repeadetly as if you were lighting it. Nothing lights up, it just clicks once and then nothing else all night. It seems to happen most every night.
No signs of gas smell and the oven and stove both work very well still.
Any ideas? I'm a little worried, but nothing has happened yet, so it is probably OK.
Any ideas?!?!?

I was going to ask if you got the switches wet. Than I finished reading your post. Sounds like may have a burner switch going bad

Nope, definitely was not wet.
I heard it again yesterday morning, which was odd since we hadn't used the stove/oven since the night before, so clearly it is something that keeps happening over and over again, it's just hard to hear/catch at the right time. It seems like it makes one click sound every ~6 hours or something like that..
This is just too weird..

Can also be your spark module starting to go out. Scott

Hmmm, good point. Where is this plug usually located? I will look and see if it's getting old or worn out. The oven IS 7 years old.....

What brand is it? Spark modules can be anywhere on the unit. A spark module is encased in plastic and you can't tell by looking at it if it's bad. When you turn the top burners on and and the burner lights do you normally (when it was working ok) have to turn the knob to get the initial spark to stop (as some knobs require that) or does it stop clicking automatically?
