I currently have a 1/4" chrome L shaped strip that covers the space between a butcher block back splash & countertop. Can someone tell me what that piece is called & where I can purchase. Home depot does not have anything like that.

It was most common for this piece to be, when viewed in section, "L" shaped where it contacted the two adjoining surfaces. However there was usually a profile, either convex or concave, on the surface facing you.
This was a method used for DIY counter tops and before the advent of the bull nose and back cove by formica shops.
You might start there. I would walk in as opposed to calling.
