JVC TV model AV-28GTisjf about 14 months old stopped showing my cable TV channels but plays DVD OK. Put it in search mode and it can not locate signal from my cable provider. My cable provider put a spare TV on the cable and got picture. I suspect that there is a pcb inside could this be the problem

Could be the tuner, or 32v tuner power line down, or no/dirty data/clock/enable signals for the microcontroller. If you have a meter, check for voltages on the tuner leads.
