I have a two story home in Arizona. Part of the second floor extends over the garage. The single story part of the garge has attic access and there is no insulation in this part of the garage. When I'm in this attic I can see between the ceiling of the garage (second story part) and the second story floor (the garage has a dropped ceiling). The garage ceiling is insolated but the floor of the second story is not. In other words... I can be in the un-insulated garge attic and directly see the sub floor of the second story.
It seems to me that it is not correct to have the un-insulated air from the single story garage is in direct contact with the second story floor. When I asked the builder about it, I was told that just the way its done. Is this correct?

Id say its all in what he can get by with. Have to look and see what the paper work on the home called for .That you put your name to.
Might cxall and ask the BBB about this builder.
