I've read the other posts about the bathtub refinishing process, etching, etc. Has anyone heard of heat applied finish? A refinisher told me that this was developed in Europe and they heat apply 10-14 layers which is closer to a porcelain finish than the epoxy method.

I have very little experience regarding this product other than the 2 can product sold at the big box stores that is painted on.
I would do a google search on numerous internet search engines to see if it would be more fruitful in information.
The application you describe sounds promising though.

Find out if the guy is talking about just hanging a infrared lamp in the tub area to "CURE" the paint' fast. If that is it it is nothing special. All bathtub refinishing products can be cured this way, if it needs to be used same day. If not let it dry naturally. it is a stronger finish with no accelerated curing of any kind -chemical or heat.
Many companies advertise how many coats they put on but if you do 3 or 14 it usually adds up to the same film thickness. What is the guarantee. How many years. How much to refinish.
A bathtub refinished professionally should last 10 to 15 years and can be buffed out in future years to look like new
