We have been forced to put a cold air return duct in an exterior wall of our basement. Should the vapor barrier be behind the duct or in front of it?

There is a 2" gap between the framed wall and the foundation wall, so there is room for fiberglass insulation behind and beside the duct, but should the wall's vapor barrier snake behind the new duct or just go over it?

Thanks!
