After about 3 years of trouble-free service, my Aprilaire 560 humidifier is not operating properly. The water runs constantly regardless of whether the furnace is running or not. Is this a solenoid problem, and if it may be, how can I check for sure? Is there anything else I should check?

YOu may have to undo the wire that powers the solenoid, if the water stops, then something is stuck on w/ power. if the water still runs when you undo the wire, then you maybe able to take apart and clean it.

Might also tap a little on that solenoid valve and see if that lets it close. They are bad for just jaming up on the plunger. So if its not the electric. Some you can take apart and clean the plunger. If it is the solenoid it dont jam as much if you use the hot water line for the humidifier.
