Why do all my toilet seats have rusty screws? I want to replace them all with a screw that does not rust.

Does anyone know what kind of screw I should use? The plastic ones seem like they would not be strong enough.

The metal screws rust for various reasons, condensation being the main one. The plastic screws are more than sufficent for a toilet seat. Unless you use it to dance on. Barring this you will have no problems with the plastic screws.

Good luck with your project.
