First, remove the trim (casing) that surrounds the door on both sides. Usually door jambs are shimmed and nailed in place using long finish nails. The easiest way to get a door out is to cut all of these nails with a reciprocating saw. If you don't have one, then you might use a hand saw to cut each leg of the door jamb in half so that it is easier to pry the pieces out.
