Under a bathroom counter, I unhooked the connections which had two black plastic hapves with an oval metal clip around the outside.

It all seemed normal at the time. Now it is a month later...and re-installing a new counter and sink.

the faucet hot and cold have a double leed. Water in, and water out to a 3 way hose. The faucet end has the brass pipe extending down with an o ring on it. The wite flexible connector- female so to say- slides over that. These two black pieces are supose to go over this connection and hold it together so the water pressure doesnt blow it apart. The black pieces look like a 1 inch length of pipe sliced length wise so it hugs the pipe inside of it. (This is hard to describe, but I am sure a real plumber is laughing) The black pieces are smaller in diamter and dont close around the brass fittings.

Can anyone walk me through this one?

Kevin

black pieces fit in groove through femal brass into male recess, prevents the female from slipping off under pressure.

an hour of cramped conditions and frustration flipping and turning these parts worked out. Clips from delta to slide over plastic parts suck, although a good idea in a little space concept, an extra piece of tape and 6 fingers later, over the outside sure gives me some confidence they wount fall apart.
