Doors and Windows - sound-proofing seal around door?

Sorry if this is a simplistic question - I am new to home improvement. I live in a large, new condo building and have noticed a moderate amount of hallway noise (people, elevators) finds its way into our unit. I noticed one night after turning the lights out that at best the door is a loose fit to the frame and there is no seal around the door (in the darkness there is a large glowing outline of the door from the hallway lights).

Is there door stripping made for sound proofing purposes? Otherwise, would adding some weather stripping to the door dampen noise from the hallway?

Any thoughts appreciated.

The exit corridor is a rated fire exit and the door is required to have a working gasket which meets the standards for your building.
I would bring this to the attention of building maintenence.

The gasket issue is a good one to bring up. Assuming that it is dealt with, you can get acoustic caulk to fill any gaps. Acoustic caulk is different that regular caulk, most gaurentee it will not dry out for 50 years. So the caulk remains somewhat flexible, which is better from an acoustic standpoint.
