Hi!!!!

We would like to know the procedure necessary for building a concrete stairway. Since we live on a tiny island, there is no way of using precast concrete (just bags of cement and concrete block!!!).......it would have to be poured in place......

this is an entry stairway going from the ground to a concrete landing at the upper level of the house about 8' 4'' above ground level. Is a second landing partway down recommended?

please let me know if i can provide any further details in order to better answer this question.

Any input and ideas will be most appreciated....

best wishes......tree

I noticed in newer constrution ( no mater high prided or not) the floors are not as solid as older homes. Our house was built in 1937 and we are looking for a ranch. Our floors squeek but they don't bounce. On newer construction(70's or 80s) the floors bounce as you walk across. Is there anything to do so they are strenthened.

Woodwright and pgtek,

Anyone notice that you both are answering a post made in 2001? It helps to read the date as it is probably of no benefit to anyone.
