I have great water pressure throughout the house except at the kitchen sink. Has anyone experienced this before and what could cause this problem? Is it the pipes? The house is older (1958 built) galvanized pipes. Any input would be appreciated... Thanks, Kelly

What are your pipes and have you tried cleaning the aerator?

Thanks for replying. The pipes are galvinized and yes, i did clean the faucet head. I'm just not sure if it's more likely to be the pipes maybe clogged or if it's the faucet itself. Any help is much appreciated.

Checked the shutoffs are fully open? Ran it without the faucet head? Both hot and cold same low pressure?

Maybe tapered washers where flat washers should be.

Also a broken off washer or screw from elsewhere in the system can turn up unexpectedly, impeding flow. A never touched branch shutoff can drop a screw head for example. I once flushed one of these floaters out by running the faucet without its valve stem. If the pressure's good for a second but then throttles you've probably got a floater.

Otherwise I guess the pipes are full of rust. :(
