Hey there,

I am installing a bath tub in an upstairs bathroom and had a quick question. The floor up there looks like 1/2 inch plywood and I have had to cut a couple of holes in it to run the drain over. The holes in the floor are located under the tub and each are around a square foot. Do I need to patch these holes? No part of the tub rests on them - I am just worried if I may mess up the overall integrity of the floor by removing spaces of the floor under the tub.

thanks in advance!
Craig.

The tub should be supported by the joists. If you didn't cut any of those, you should be in good shape. I, personally would put something over them to stop airflow. This will help to keep the tub from cooling off as quick. Just a thought. Good luck.
