Ok, I am buying a home that used to belong to a plumber. This is a buy as is house. House was foreclosed on. So you see the previous owner was extremely mad. Ok anyway. In hall bath the drain, handle, faucet and showerhead are missing. I do know it was a single handle and also that the cartridge is missing. But the same type of handle in the master bath is there and if I get the cartridge off I can replace the one in the hall bath. Correct? This is extensive I know and a private email may be necessary but money is an issue and trying to do this myself. Thanks in advance  :gmorning:

Hi hairwizard,
Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Many faucets come with a special tool to remove the cartridge. It also may come with a replacement cartridge. If you can find any numbers on your faucet, you may get a replacement cartridge with tool included. Put this tool where you can find it if you need it again. If it doesn't come with one you may be able to get one from your local home center. A special tool may also not be needed. It would help if we knew what kind of faucet it was/is

If you can possibly take a picture of your faucet we may be able to help you identify it. You can upload your picture to a photo album site such as photobucket or yahoo and then place a link to it in your reply post.

Take a pic of the handle area where the cartridge is also.. We may be able to determine whether a tool is needed or not.

Good luck with your project and reply back if you have further questions.
